Andreas Mader finished his PhD work

Recently, Andreas Mader wrapped his PhD work by defending his thesis on a biochip topic.

The title of his thesis is "Multiparametric RNA analysis on polymer-based DNA microarrays". He combined the chip technology developed in our labs with NASBA amplification to detect and quantify different biomarkers on one biochip. Such systems are promising techniques for advanced tumor diagnosis.

We are very happy that Andreas will stay with us for a little longer to continue his reserach on biochip applications.

Some snaps from the defense festivities which - as always - included a personalized doctor hat and a trolley to haul the new doctor around campus.
