Just accepted: Surface-attached polymer layers via diazoester groups
"Preparation of surface-attached polymer layers by thermal or photochemical activation of α-diazoester moieties" is the title of a manuscript that was now accepted by Langmuir. It is already available from their website.
The work described in the paper was performed by Dr. Rodrigo Navarro and Dr. Mónica Pérez Perrino during their postdoctoral stay at CPI.
They describe a new strategy for the generation of surface attached polymer monolayers and networks based on a thermally or photochemically induced carbene intermediates followed by insertion reactions. One possible chemical pathway for the formation of a crosslink is shown in the figure.
Langmuir currently provides the unformatted manuscript in their "Just accepted" section but the DOI will in the future also link to the published version after editing.
