Frank Scherag

Frank Daniel Scherag studied at the University of Freiburg and the University of Constance and graduated in biology in 2009 with a Diploma thesis in the Department of Limnology. Since 2010, he has been working at the Institute of Microsystems Technology (IMTEK) in the Department of Chemistry and Physics of Interfaces under Prof. Dr. J. Rühe. In 2017 he published his PhD thesis with the topic: Development of geometric wire structures with functionalized surfaces for isolation and analysis of rare cells.

"As a very creative mind with a broad spectrum of knowledge and experience, I work primarily on an interdisciplinary basis and try to close gaps between the fields of natural science - technology - medicine, as well as to convey content appropriately in order to develop innovative products and optimize processes. My portfolio includes project management, construction and functional design of primarily analytical, biomedical and sensory products, as well as innovation management including patent searches and freedom-to-operate analyses."
